We DO Choose!

In a departure from the usual message from me, I would like to share with you some of the insightful comments that the last blog (Life by Choice) provoked from readers:
“Thanks for sharing your experience. Every day life does happen to all of us, sometimes in strange and inconceivable ways. At the moment something unexpected occurs, most of us go straight to panic mode and what plays out is rarely productive or beneficial. Your reminder that we have choices to make is both encouraging and as you say, confidence building.”
“We DO choose…..each minute as to “how I will react” to this situation. What we don’t realize is that our minute to minute choices begin to define us. Minute to minute choices become habits—which are just ingrained choices we have made in the past and aren’t even aware of. Then the habits begin to define our lives:
Who we spend our time with
Our outlook on the world
How we spend our time
How we spend our resources
What we do or do not accomplish
Our satisfaction with ourselves and others”
Perhaps one of these provides you some additional perspective as well. I should not be the only beneficiary of readers’ great thoughts! Should you like to share your thoughts more publicly, you may do so by clicking on the link below. Thank you to those who provided permission to share and to each of you who provide feedback.
