A Timely Message About Time

“What time is it?”  “Do you have the time?”  “May I take just a moment of your time?” These are some of the many phrases we hear associated with the ticking of the clock.  Most cause us some level of anxiety and a reACTION of “Oh, my goodness, look at the time!” or “I don’t have time for that (or anything else!).”

What is it about time that causes so much angst?

Time is simply a measuring tool and our chosen system incorporates seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months and years.  Within our system, we are all given 24 hours in each day.  How we approach our days (and lives) makes all the difference in our effectiveness and thus our anxiety level.  Sure, we all have scheduled meetings and events that provide structure to our work, play and family lives.  Yet how different could our day feel if instead of dashing around madly, we stopped the merry-go-round hamster wheel in our head and truly savored the events of our day.  What would it feel like to live in the moment, to experience and be present?

“Oh, I don’t have time for that” you say.  What then, do you make time for and where is that taking you?
