Are You Ready to Lead in Your New Role? Get Prepared Now.

new role

Stepping into a new leadership role can be overwhelming.  There is the excitement of the new opportunity, the chance to prove yourself and a bit (or more) apprehension of your ability to do so.  The combination of adrenaline and fear can be deadly or powerful.  Which will it be for you?

Reading this you are taking the first step, and that is acknowledging that the promotion or new role is not the place to celebrate.  Do that privately with those who know and love you.  Do bring excitement and energy with you to the new role but in a way that builds not destroys trust.

So it is enough to learn where the pencils are and the policies and procedures, and now I am supposed to balance the energy and excitement with establishing relationships and my role in the organization?  What???  Shouldn’t others know and understand the role I am filling?  Isn’t my resume and LinkedIn profile enough to establish my credibility?

Winning the trust of others does not come with the title you are assuming.

It is a starting point, but winning the trust of others does not come with the title you are assuming or the track record trailing behind you.  What you do in these first 90 days will determine your success in the new role.

Rather than rehash what you can find in other books, I want to help you be that warm, confident, welcoming, eager, able person that steps into a role with your colleagues wondering how the organization functioned before you arrived.  To do that, you’ll need to:

  1. Uncover your natural talents
  2. Identify how you have used these in the past
  3. Understand how they can apply in your current role
  4. Define your leadership style
  5. Develop strengths that may have been overlooked or dormant in previous roles

You bring more to the table than you can imagine.  Bringing it in a way that allows you to move forward confidently while building trust with your new teammates is the ultimate advantage.

Get this ultimate advantage in our Strengths Coaching Course starting September 7th.  Click here to learn more.
