Developing Awareness

The last two messages involved you in a process to develop awareness. You can only harvest what you plant. Are you aware of what you are planting and nurturing?

Awareness is two-fold:

  1. The amount of time we spend in reflection forming thoughts, opinions or ideas
  2. Where our attention is focused
Instead of reflection we live in reaction, responding to what happens to us, rather than creating our world. In turn, our attention is focused on reacting and responding. Energy flows where attention goes. Do you ever wonder why you feel there is not enough time (or energy) for you?
Reflection
Time is simply a measuring tool; for most of us the true issue is space. Have you ever opened that closet at home only to quickly close it and walk away saying “no room in there”? The exact same phenomenon occurs in our head. We can’t possibly add another thought or creative idea as there is just no more room and we feel overwhelmed. The first step is to clean out some of the clutter and we will talk about that next time.
